Made to measure, fitted by the people who made it

Kitchens, cupboards, staircases and tables, drawn for your rooms and made by hand in our railway arch. We measure twice, cut once and come back to fit it ourselves.

A newly fitted kitchen of sage-green painted shaker cabinets with aged brass handles, a white ceramic sink with a brass tap and a plain plaster wall, morning light falling across the doors from a sash window

What we make

Five things we do well

Everything is made to fit one room, from the first drawing to the last screw. Prices are where most jobs start; your quote follows the measure-up.

How a commission goes

From the first visit to the last screw

Seven steps, usually twelve to sixteen weeks. You'll know what happens next, and when.

  1. 1 hour, at your home

    Measure-up

We come to the room, talk through what you need and measure everything twice: walls, floors, the odd corner.

  2. Within 2 weeks

    Drawing

A scale drawing of the room and the piece, with a front, a plan and the details that matter.

  3. With the drawing

    Fixed quote

One price for making and fitting, the timber and finish named, nothing left to surprise you.

  4. When you say yes

    Deposit

Pay a deposit when you're happy and your weeks on the bench are booked.

  5. 6–10 weeks

    Making

Timber is chosen, machined and left to settle, then cut, jointed and finished in the workshop.

  6. 1–5 days

    Fitting

We fit it ourselves, scribed to your walls, and leave the room as we found it.

  7. After 6 months

    Aftercare

We come back after a season to adjust doors and drawers once the wood has met your house.

Notes from the bench

The journal

Offcuts, four times a year

A short letter from the workshop: what's on the bench, which weeks are still free and the odd tip for looking after wood. Nothing else.

Tell us about the room

Send a few photos and rough sizes, or book an hour for us to come and measure. Either way, you'll have a drawing and a fixed price before anything is cut.
