No wall in a Victorian house is straight, and no alcove is the same width at the top as at the bottom. We draw each one, make the cupboards a little oversize and scribe them to the wall on site, so there’s no gap to fill with a bead of caulk.
Wardrobes follow the same rules: full height to the cornice, doors that close with a quiet click, rails and drawers where you actually need them.
