Floor-to-ceiling deep blue bookshelves full of old books built around a doorway in a sitting room, with a rolling library ladder on a brass rail

Ladder rail at 2 280

Two thousand books and one sitting room. The shelves wrap the doorway and both alcoves, with a deep cupboard at the bottom for the things that aren’t books.

Every shelf has a solid tulipwood front edge, 25 mm thick, so they don’t sag under a full row of hardbacks. The ladder runs on a brass rail along the whole wall and parks by the door.
