Repairs

Sash windows and repairs

Old sashes taken out, repaired, re-corded and painted, rather than replaced.

a sash window, overhauled
from £480
Lead time
3–5 weeks

What's included

  • Survey of every window
  • Rotten wood cut out and spliced
  • New cords, pulleys freed, weights balanced
  • Draught-proofing in the beads
  • Painted inside and out

Most old sash windows can be saved. We take the sashes out, cut out the rot and splice in new wood, renew the cords and balance the weights so they slide with one finger, and fit brush seals in the beads so they stop rattling.

We also take on smaller repairs between bigger jobs: a door that won’t close, a split stair tread, a drawer that has lost its runner. Write to us with a photo.
